As you may already be aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, we have partnered with Twisted Sportswear and created a Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirt.
-Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women. About 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point.
-The good news is that many women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early. A mammogram – the screening test for breast cancer – can help find breast cancer early when it’s easier to treat.
-National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Make a difference! Spread the word about mammograms and encourage communities, organizations, families, and individuals to get involved.
During the next 2 weeks, we will be taking orders for these t-shirts with delivery estimated to be around Oct.1st. All proceeds from the sales of the shirts will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Fund. Please take the time to talk to a coach or team parent to purchase a shirt to wear during games in the month of October. Shirts will be available in white or black and youth and adult sizes.
While this sale is not mandatory, we encourage our "soccer family" to join the fight in raising awareness about Breast Cancer, the importance of early detection, and the hope for a cure.
